The cost of replacing windows or doors varies depending on several factors, including size, style, materials, glass options, and installation complexity.

For most homes in the North Atlanta area, homeowners typically invest between $800 and $2,500 per window installed, depending on the product selected.

Entry doors, patio doors, and large custom units can vary more widely based on size, materials, and hardware selections.

Premium architectural windows, oversized doors, or fully custom installations may exceed these ranges.

At Focus Points Windows & Doors, we believe transparency is important. Every project begins with a detailed consultation so we can provide accurate pricing based on your home, your design goals, and the products that best fit your needs.

Choosing the right company is just as important as choosing the windows or doors themselves. The quality of installation plays a major role in how well your new products perform over time.

Homeowners should look for a company that offers:

  • Proven installation experience
  • High-quality product options
  •  Strong manufacturer and labor warranties
  • Clear communication throughout the project

Double-pane windows have two glass layers, while triple-pane windows add an extra pane for increased insulation and sound reduction. Triple pane is best for extreme cold climates.

Window grids are decorative bars that divide the glass visually into smaller sections, adding architectural character and style to a window.

Grids can be applied in different ways depending on the desired appearance and window construction.

Common grid styles include:

SDL (Simulated Divided Lite)
Grids are permanently applied to the exterior surfaces of the glass on both the inside and outside of the window, creating the appearance of traditional divided panes.

GBG (Grids Between the Glass)
Grids are installed between the panes of glass in a double- or triple-pane window. This option provides the divided look while keeping the glass surface smooth and easy to clean.

FDL (Fully Divided Lite)
A combination of SDL and internal spacer bars between the glass panes, creating a more authentic divided-light appearance similar to traditional wood windows.

TDL (True Divided Lite)
Each section created by the grid contains its own individual piece of glass, replicating the construction used in historic windows. This option is most commonly used in architectural or historic applications.

Preparing for Installation

We recommend moving furniture away from windows and removing blinds or curtains before installation.

Our team takes great care to protect landscaping around window openings during installation. In some cases, minor trimming of nearby bushes or plants may be necessary to allow proper access and ensure the installation is completed correctly.

Many windows are designed to tilt inward, allowing for convenient cleaning from inside your home. The best way to clean the glass is with a quality glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth for a streak-free finish.

Most windows require minimal maintenance beyond occasional cleaning.

The first step is scheduling a consultation so we can evaluate your home and discuss design options.
